Orlando Pirates' Makhehlene Makhaula reveals how penalty miss against Cape Town City haunted Patrick Maswanganyi - 'Tito is not like me'

Orlando Pirates played Cape Town City on Wednesday in the Premier Soccer League game that was played at the DHL Cape Town Stadium.

With the scores still 0-0, Bucs won a penalty and Patrick Maswanganyi took it. However, the midfielder's effort came off the upright before Darren Keet secured the ball.

Moments later, Darwin Gonzalez scored the only goal of the match to give the Citizens maximum points.

Makhehleni Makhaula, who was suspended for that fixture, has since revealed how 'Tito' was affected by the miss.

"Tito is always emotional when he’s playing. He’s someone with a [big] heart, he’s not like me who is going to miss and then get over it," he told the media.

“He’s still young and for me, all I can say is it’s okay.

“I think if he’s going to start [this weekend] you’re going to see a different Tito because he forgot about [the miss]. A penalty is a penalty and everyone can miss a penalty.”

Pirates are unbeaten in the Caf Champions League this season. On Sunday, they will play CR Belouizdad in Group C of the ongoing campaign.

A win over Khanyisa Mayo's outfit will seal their place in the knockout phase.

Maswanganyi is expected to play a part in the crucial game that will be staged at the Orlando Stadium.

Maswanganyi has to gather his confidence ahead of the crucial assignment.
