    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Sekhukhune United advanced to the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 after defeating Cape Town City 2-0 at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Monday evening.

    Katlego Otladisa, who is on loan from Orlando Pirates, netted the opening goal for Babina Noko in the 57th minute - his first goal since joining the club a few weeks ago.

    Relebogile Mokhuoane then scored the second goal for Lehlohonolo Seema’s team in the 71st minute as the Citizens were unable to score on the evening.

    Mamelodi Sundowns loanee Sipho Mbule was named Man of the Match.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    A victory for Sekhukhune over City saw them join teams that have already secured their spots in the Last 16, including Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Pirates.

    There are now four matches remaining in the Round of 32 that involve five Premier Soccer League teams.

    Sekhukhune will discover their Nedbank Cup Round of 16 opponents during the draw on Wednesday, January 29.

    Aside from their Nedbank commitment, the Limpopo-based team will face Stellenbosch FC in a PSL match on Saturday, while City will travel to TS Galaxy on Sunday.
