  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

The two teams have met six times in the past.

The Soweto Giants have managed to win three times, drawn twice, and lost just once.

Despite the quality within the Red Devils squad, Bucs legend Happy Jele insists the Sea Robbers can't be stopped by Percy Tau's side.

However, the 37-year-old is not expecting the Egyptians to play an open game.

    WHAT JELE SAID

“Yeah, they can [beat Al Ahly],” Jele told iDiski Times.

“We once did it so why not? They are capable of beating Al Ahly at home. The most important thing, they just need to concentrate for 90 minutes because Al Ahly when they come here, they are going to try and defend for Orlando Pirates not to score goals.

"If they get a chance, they will make sure they capitalise. But the most important thing is they will try and not concede a goal. They will do a low-block situation.

"They’re not going to outrun Orlando Pirates to make sure that they get a win. So, the more Pirates do not make mistakes, the more they will get a chance to win," Jele concluded.

    WHAT NEXT?

Pirates suffered their second loss across all competitions this season when they fell by a solitary goal against Stellenbosch in a PSL fixture last weekend.

They will need to shrug off that defeat and focus on this is a crucial game, with coach Jose Riveiro insisting they have no excuse for not securing maximum points after getting enough time to prepare.

Al Ahly on the other hand, come into this match after a 0-0 draw with National Bank in the Egyptian Premier League, leaving them third on the log after just four games.
