    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Orlando Pirates have received an injury boost ahead of their PSL game against SuperSport United with the news that Makhehleni Makhaula and Miguel Timm will be fit and ready for the match. 

    The two defensive midfielders were not in the matchday squad in Bucs' defeat to Magesi FC in the Carling Knockout clash over the weekend. 

    Pirates have now confirmed the two players should be fit for the clash against the Swanky Boys.

    WHAT PIRATES SAID

    "There have also been a couple of additions to the Buccaneers’ injury list in the form of Olisa Ndah and Thalente Mbatha, while the likes of Thabiso Lebitso and Zakhele Lepasa continue to progress in their rehabilitation," a club statement read

    "A return to the match day squad could also be on the cards for the likes of Makhehlene Makhaula and Miguel Timm, who both sat out in the game against Magesi."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Timm hasn't played a league match in the current 2024/25 season - having only featured in the Caf Champions League and MTN8. 

    On the other hand, Makhaula has been playing ahead of Timm as the two veteran midfielders compete for the same position. 

    The Buccaneers have a few players who are still out injured, namely Bandile Shandu, Goodman Mosele, Sandile Mthethwa, Ethan Visagie, and the club's vice-captain Tapelo Xoki.

    Pirates and SuperSport United will both be looking to bounce back to winning ways after losing their weekend encounters.
