Orlando Pirates confirm permanent departure of midfielder and Monnapule Saleng agreement ahead of 2025/26 season

Orlando Pirates have confirmed the departure of Monnapule Saleng to Premier Soccer League newcomers Orbit College.

The 26-year-old winger will spend the 2025/26 season with Orbit College on a loan deal. Meanwhile, Bucs have confirmed the permanent departure of Phillip Ndlondlo.

"Orlando Pirates Football Club can confirm the departure of midfielder Phillip Ndlondlo. The 28-year-old is now free to sign with a club of his choice. Ndlondlo, who joined the Buccaneers in 2022, made a number of notable contributions during his time in the famous black and white," Pirates announced on Wednesday.

"The club extends its sincere gratitude to Phillip for his professionalism and commitment during his spell at Orlando Pirates and wishes him every success in the next chapter of his career," it added.

"Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates can also confirm that an agreement has been reached with Orbit College FC for the loan of Monnapule Saleng. The 27-year-old will spend the 2025/26 season with the newly crowned outfit."

The loan deal ends Saleng's nightmare at the Soweto giants, since he last played for them in December 2024.

Since a reported wage dispute emerged between Saleng and the Bucs, he remained sidelined. Earlier reports that indeed he was headed to the exit door earned credibility when he was dropped from the Spain-bound squad.

At Orbit College, the forward returns to his former club, where he began his career before he made a big move to Free State Stars. From Free State Stars, he was signed by the Sea Robbers and became an integral part of the playing unit before the big fallout when Jose Riveiro was in charge.

The Sea Robbers have already signed 10, while the exits of Innocent Maela, Miguel Timm, Paseka Mako, and Thabiso Monyane had already been communicated.

Bucs fans will follow him keenly to see whether he will revive his stalled career at the PSL newbies.

His experience can come in handy for Orbit College, who will be eager to have a dream debut season in the top flight.
