Amakhosi's dream of winning a continental trophy remains alive thanks to their dominant home game against AS Simba. The Glamour Boys' hope of a group stage ticket was realised within just 26 minutes, as they had already achieved an advantage that Simba could not cancel in the end.

Kaizer Chiefs restored the Soweto pride after eliminating AS Simba to progress to the CAF Confederation Cup.

A dominant Amakhosi picked up a significant win that ensured that at least there is a club from Soweto that will take part in a CAF competition. After Orlando Pirates were eliminated from the CAF Champions League by Saint-Eloi Lupopo, the Soweto focus shifted to the Glamour Boys, who have proudly progressed.
