    Why Orbit College signed Saleng & Co.

    Orbit College were promoted to the Premier Soccer League for the ongoing 2025/26 season.

    The Mswenko Boys managed to bring in Monnapule Saleng, Thuso Moleleki, and Yanga Madiba (on loan from Orlando Pirates), Thato Mohlamme (Richards Bay FC), Lucky Malatsi (Lerumo Lions), and Yamkela Gamede (Hungry Lions FC) in their bid to have a good season and retain their PSL status.

    How Orbit College have performed

    However, things have not worked for the club as they may have anticipated.

    In the nine Premier Soccer League matches played, Orbit College have two wins, a draw, and six losses, which leaves them 13th in the table, just one point above the relegation spots.

    It explains the recent signings confirmed by the team to sustain their status in the PSL.

    College have now added three more players to their squad, among them former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs player Ramahlwe Mphahlele.

    Lebohang Lesako, who was promoted to the Chiefs first team in 2020 under Ernst Middendorp, also played for Moroka Swallows, albeit on loan.

    As well, Papama Tyongwana who has played for Chippa United.

    What's next for Orbit?

    Orbit College can now hope the trio will boost their performances to get more positive results consistently.

    They face a number of tough fixtures ahead of the PSL hiatus for the 2025 AFCON Finals, starting with Richards Bay this Friday and then continuing with league matches against Magesi, Kaizer Chiefs, Stellenbosch, Mamelodi Sundowns and then, finally, Gavin Hunt's Durban City on December 3.
