OFFICIAL: PSL confirms date of postponed Nedbank Cup clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United

The Nedbank Cup quarterfinal match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United was postponed due to a stadium double booking as the South African Women's U-17 team had a match against Nigeria at 15h00, while Sundowns and Sekhukhune were scheduled for 20h00.

Safety concerns led to the game being called off.

The PSL has now announced new dates for the fixture with the match taking place at the same venue but with an adjusted kick off time.

According to the PSL statement, the postponed Nedbank Cup quarterfinal between Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United has been rescheduled for Friday, 28 March 2025, at Lucas Moripe Stadium, with kickoff at 19h00.

Ticket holders from the original fixture must visit the verification booth on match day for a replacement ticket, while those who requested refunds will need to buy new tickets.

Tickets are available at TicketPro outlets nationwide for R60 each.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have already secured semifinal spots after the draw was conducted, Pirates will take on Marumo Gallants, while Chiefs await the winner of Sundowns vs. Sekhukhune.

Masandawana face a tough schedule, as several key players will be on international duty before the rescheduled fixture. Eleven players are away on national team duties and will have only two days before the quarterfinal clash.

This tight turnaround could pose challenges for Miguel Cardoso’s squad, especially with the first leg of their Caf Champions League quarterfinal against Esperance taking place on Tuesday, April 1.

The coach has previously expressed concerns over fixture congestion and its impact on the team’s performance.
