Maboe spent the latter part of the 2024/25 season at the defunct SuperSport United. Earlier reports had indicated that Siwelele FC, after acquiring SuperSport United's status, was keen to retain the midfielder.
The versatile midfielder, who spent the latter part of the 2024/25 season on loan at SuperSport United, proved instrumental in their fight against relegation, featuring in 16 matches and contributing one goal and two assists.
Other reports linked Maboe to Premier Soccer League debutants Durban City FC and even Sekhukhune United, but he has preferred a return to his former club.
Maboe comes from a family with rich football history as his father, Sidwell Maboe, played for Bucs, SuperSport United, Bloemfontein Celtic, and Moroka Swallows in the 1990s.
Meanwhile, his return follows in the footsteps of Zitha Kwinika, who was developed at the Chiefs academy, left, and returned later.
Maboe arrives just after Chiefs confirmed the signing of Asanele Velebayi, Luke Baartman and Etiosa Ighodaro.
