Not now! Orlando Pirates legend discourages Bucs from signing Bafana Bafana star Sinoxolo Kwayiba - 'He is not clinical enough'
WHAT HAPPENED?
Former Orlando Pirates striker Katlego Mashego has explained why the Premier Soccer League side should not sign Chippa United forward Sinoxolo Kwayiba.
Mashego believes that Kwayiba has not developed into a striker who can find the back of the net on a more regular basis; thus, he says, his addition may not bring the desired results at Bucs.

"At the moment, for me, he is not clinical enough; his goal-scoring ability is not there yet at the level where you can rely on him week in and week out," Mashego told KickOff.
"At his age, he is not as clinical as he should be; he should know when to calm himself to score goals. But whether he is ready or not can be found out once he joins the Pirates," he added.
"But at the moment, I don't think he can go to Pirates and immediately command a place in the starting line-up. He is not at the stage where he can come up with 15 goals in 30 games. Not yet."

Although Mashego believes Kwayiba is not Pirates material now, he can improve, and thus Bucs can take a gamble by signing him.
"Though he's got energy, Kwayiba is still a little bit raw, but he's got the ability and probably a chance to improve," Mashego stated.
"So the only way to improve is for him to join a team of Orlando Pirates' stature. Playing alongside players who are at a high level, like Pirates players, will improve his game," he continued.
"He is a player Pirates can take a gamble with; he's got the potential. What he lacks can still be worked on, though, because he can get into good scoring positions."
BackpageTHE BIGGER PICTURE
Recently, the forward opened up about his dream to play for one of the PSL's big three sides. Going by their stature, achievements, and history, Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, and Mamelodi Sundowns are considered the league's heavyweights.
Now, Kwayiba has become a subject of massive speculation after opening up about his dream. His performances with Chilli Boys over the last two seasons have been impressive, indicating he is now ready for a bigger challenge.
At the beginning of the 2023/24 season, he signed for Chippa from Motsepe Foundation Championship side Pretoria Callies. He went on to score 11 goals and provide two assists in 43 games.

Although Mashego does not believe he is ready to play for Bucs, Kwayiba is expected to be one of the PSL players whose future will attract massive speculation in the upcoming transfer window.
Kwayiba, the Man-of-the-Match award winner in Bafana Bafana’s 2-0 victory over Mozambique in a recent friendly, where he also scored, is expected to attract interest from other clubs.
