No face-off! Why Monnapule Saleng, Thuso Moleleki and Yanga Madiba will stay out as Orlando Pirates clash with Orbit College

Orbit College will not field Monnapule Saleng during their midweek Premier Soccer League game against Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday.

Apart from Saleng, other loanees from Bucs who will not take part in the game are Thuso Moleleki and Yanga Madiba.

In their loan deals, it is understood that there exists a clause that will not allow Saleng and his teammates to play against their parent club, Pirates.

This means head coach Pogiso Makhoye will have to field other alternatives when his side visits Soweto for a midweek PSL encounter.

Saleng, Moleleki, and Madiba were loaned to the league debutants before the 2025/26 season began.

Saleng completed the loan deal to Mswenko Boys after he had been frozen out at Pirates, and many believe his former club will help him get back to his previous form after many months of inaction.

After three games, Orbit College are in the 12th position with three points from a win against Siwelele FC. Meanwhile, the debutants lost to AmaZulu and Sekhukhune.

Pirates have not fared better, as they also have one win, which came against Stellenbosch after previously losing to Marumo Gallants and Sekhukhune.

Although they have not been impressive in the league, Pirates would hope their MTN8 semi-final victory against Mamelodi Sundowns will motivate them as focus shifts to the league.

For Saleng, he will have to watch from the sidelines as Orbit College and Pirates clash for the first time this season.
