    WHAT HAPPENED?

Mbekezeli Mbokazi was recently promoted to the Orlando Pirates senior team owing to his strong showings with the reserve outfit.

Injuries to experienced players like Olisa Ndah and Thabiso Sesane coupled with Tapelo Xoki's struggles saw coach Jose Riveiro gamble with the 19-year-old.

The center-back has since repaid coach Riveiro's faith by displaying mature and consistent performances.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mbokazi has attracted attention from a wider scope of South Africans.

It is obvious, some will like to be associated with the youngster with selfish interests like reaping from his hard work.

Mbokazi's grandmother Thembisile Nxumalo has now advised her grandson on how to conduct himself to ensure he reaches his full potential.

    WHAT NXUMALO SAID

"You must enjoy life but don’t forget where you come from. Wherever you are now please look after yourself” she told 1KZN TV.

“I want to warn you to be respectful and don’t mess around with a nice life in Gauteng because they will destroy you. Come home and get your partner. Don't go all over the places in Gauteng, stay focused and collected, and leave out all the women in Gauteng because they will lead you astray.

"Leave out all the bad things and also alcohol. Please stay focused and remember the reason why you left home”, Nxumalo concluded.
