    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are set to grace the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

The two teams played on Saturday, May 3, in the Premier Soccer League's Soweto Derby that ended 2-1 in favour of Pirates.

While Bucs played against Golden Arrows in the league assignment on Tuesday, Amakhosi have no match until this weekend.

The Glamour Boys defender Inacio Miguel has explained how this might impact the next Soweto derby.

    WHAT MIGUEL SAID

"Yeah, for me, personally, after [recent PSL's Soweto derby] loss, if I could I would play the next game to forget the bad result, but, of course, with more time to prepare, it's easier for us because we have more days to prepare technically and mentally," he told the media.

"[Orlando Pirates] have to be ready for their game, but we also had that problem in the past, playing three [matches] in seven days. Of course, it's difficult, but it's something we or they can't control.

"We have to focus on what we can control, and what we can focus on and control right now is to prepare for the game during the week," the 29-year-old Miguel continued.

"There are many points of view. If you ask me, if I prefer to train or to play, I will tell you to play, of course. So, for me as a player, if I play in the middle of the week and then on the weekend, it will be better.

"But in terms of the physical and mental [aspect], maybe the best option would be without a game in the middle of the week, but yeah, it is what it is," he concluded.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Glamour Boys have not tasted silverware in the last decade, and this will be a massive chance for them to do it.

Apart from the title, Amakhosi have lost their last five Soweto Derbies across all competitions.

It explains why coach Nasreddine Nabi and his men have everything to fight for on Saturday.

    WHAT NEXT?

Coach Jose Riveiro rested his star men against Golden Arrows, meaning his attention is on the final.

Nabi is expecting his players to be fully fit and ready to win the competition, which will put smiles on their supporters after a disastrous season.
