Chippa United and Kaizer Chiefs shared Premier Soccer League (PSL) points following a 0-0 draw at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday.
Amakhosi had more chances to score, especially in the first half, and end their winless run in the league, but they wasted them.
Meanwhile, the home side was on their way to get a possible opener, but Aviwe Mqokozo was flagged down for offside, ending an ambitious run by the Chilli Boys in the 10th minute.
Pule Mmodi was brought down in the 12th minute, and this gave Chiefs a chance to try and get an opener from the set-piece, but they could not capitalise on that chance.
Justice Chabalala, who received a yellow card a minute before, could not find the back of the net when he rose to connect to a corner, as his header went out in the 15th minute, although he was not under any tangible pressure.
Wandile Duba has to blame himself for not finding the back of the net in the 33rd minute. The Chiefs forward was presented with a huge chance but just headed wide.
Another chance for the Glamour Boys came in the 35th minute, but Tashreeq Morris, who was nicely spotted by Bradley Cross, headed wide, wasting another goal-scoring opportunity.
As the second half progressed towards the end, Chiefs upped their attacking tempo. Duba, this time around, headed on target, but Stanley Nwabali was alert to deny him in the 38th minute.
In the 44th minute, it was the Nigerian goalkeeper against Duba again, but the former managed to make another stop to deny the Chiefs youngster a chance to break the deadlock.
Bruce Bvuma was called to action in the 63rd minute when he reacted to stop a shot by Giovanni Philander. Bvuma tipped the ball over for a corner, and the Chilli Boys did not make anything meaningful from that chance.
None of the sides could get a breakthrough in the six added minutes of stoppage time.

Nwabali made key saves that kept his side in the game. Were it not for him to stop particularly Duba, Chippa United would have been decisively beaten by the visiting Amakhosi.
BackpageTHE BIG LOSER
With the draw, eighth-placed Chiefs' top-eight hope suffered yet another setback. A win would have taken them to position six, but this is another chance not well capitalised on.
Chippa, on 30 points, and Golden Arrows, on 29 points, are giving Amakhosi a run for their money in the top eight race.
The Glamour Boys have now gone for five matches without a win in the PSL, and this is expected to add more pressure on coach Nasreddine Nabi.

Chiefs will host Marumo Gallants on April 26, while Chippa could have their match against Stellenbosch, scheduled for April 26, postponed due to Stellies' Caf Confederation Cup fixtures.
