    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs sustained their good start to the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign despite playing to a goalless draw against the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Glamour Boys have so far played four games in the league with three wins and a draw.

The most impressive fact is that they haven't conceded a goal thanks to their improved defensive organisation.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Against Mamelodi Sundowns, the Soweto giants dominated proceedings from the first whistle, pressing without fear and getting into the final third.

They were let down by a lack of composure and failure to be clinical when it mattered most.

Masandawana were not at their best as they struggled to match Amakhosi. It was an opportunity that coach Nasreddine Nabi regrets not taking.

    WHAT NABI SAID

“It’s true [we could have won] it’s like kind of a frustration because we believed that we could’ve got the three points, but there was a good team in front of us," the 60-year-old told the media.

"We have a little bit of regret about not getting the three points, but we're going to work and look for the future.

“I would say that in the first half we struggled a little bit, but we wanted to leave the possession to the opponents because we know that it’s not a team that finishes well this game," Nabi added.

“But in the second half as well, with the tactical adjustment in the midfield, it allowed us to be a little bit higher and to press more higher and to stay on the front-foot.

"We had opportunities, but unfortunately, we couldn’t convert them.

“It’s true that we haven’t lost yet [this season], but we believe that today we could’ve got more, but we are pretty sure that we are on the right direction and going to work more and be better for the next game," he concluded.
