    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has shared his views on what he believes led to the club captain Yusuf Maart's struggles in his first few games of the season.

The 29-year-old midfielder faced significant criticism from the Glamour Boys supporters following his sluggish start to the campaign, but he now seems to have regained his self-confidence.

Nonetheless, Nabi is of the opinion that Maart’s inconsistent performance during the early matches of the campaign was influenced by the critiques from Chiefs fans.

    WHAT NABI SAID

"Yes, I think this is a problem for confidence, for himself," Nabi told the media.

''Yusuf has been receiving too many attacks. It’s difficult, mentally, it’s difficult. I think in the last game, and today (Saturday), he was not bad. He gave an excellent performance.

''Today, I think he gave a good performance. I want to see more confidence in himself, and continue to progress."

    WHAT NEXT?

Maart will be striving to keep silencing his critics through his outstanding performances and lead Chiefs from the front as the club's skipper throughout the season.

Amakhosi will be eager to improve on their disappointing recent performance when they take on Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on December 8.
