    WHAT HAPPENED?

Under-pressure Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi is faced with a big problem after his striker Wandile Duba is set to miss the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates.

The youngster, who played a key role in helping Chiefs eliminate Mamelodi Sundowns from the Nedbank Cup, will not be available for Nabi due to suspension after he collected a fourth yellow card.

Duba was yellow-carded in the 45th minute during the match against Marumo Gallants, meaning he will not be part of the matchday squad in the next league match.

Inacio Miguel, Mduduzi Shabalala, Pule Mmodi, and Tashreeq Morris were at risk during the Gallants game but came out without being booked.

Due to injuries, Nabi will also have to operate without Rushwin Dortley, Given Msimango, Reeve Frosler, and Ranga Chivaviro. Defender Edmilson Dove was unclearly missed the match against Gallants.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Premier Soccer League Soweto Derby is a crucial game for both the Sea Robbers and the Glamour Boys. Apart from the bragging rights it carries, it comes at a time both sides need wins.

Chiefs, who have lost 11 games of the season, are winless in six games. They are looking to get back to winning ways and ease the pressure building up on their shoulders.

Bucs head into the derby hurt after they were eliminated by Pyramids FC in the Caf Champions League. The derby is an opportunity for them to send a statement that they were not psychologically much affected by the defeat in Cairo and are ready to go again.

The Soweto rivals will also face off in the Nedbank Cup final. Pirates are the defending champions and would not want to be dethroned by their archrivals. Chiefs on the other hand, are expected to fight tooth and nail since the cup is the only trophy they can win this season.
