Monnapule Saleng breaks silence after loan move from Orlando Pirates to PSL newboys Orbit College - 'I am very happy to be back home, It wasn't an easy decision'

Monnapule Saleng was being excluded from Orlando Pirates' matchday squads after he reportedly stopped training last season.

This followed reports suggesting that he was protesting against the Buccaneers blocking his move to Al Ahly and an impasse in negotiations for an improved contract.

This has seen the Soweto giants loaning the winger out to the newly-promoted Premier Soccer League and his former club Orbit College, and he opens up on his move.

"I must give thanks to the man above. I am very happy to be back home. Orbit College is a great team that plays exciting football, and I cannot wait to be a part of that, " Saleng told SABC Sport.

"It wasn't an easy decision to retun home, especially after a long season without playing.  During this difficult time, I kept on pushing and I waited for my opportunity, but unfortunately, that did not arrive until Orbit College came calling.

"Many of the current Orbit College players were actually encouraging me when I wasn't playing for Pirates."

There were transfer rumours that Saleng was headed to Pirates' arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs, but that did not materialise.

The player's followers might feel he should have gone to a bigger club where he would face a strong challenge for playing time.

His biggest challenge would be returning to the top of his game, which saw him become a key Pirates player and earn him Bafana Bafana call-ups.

Returning to top form might improve his chances of Pirates taking him back next season or the winger striking a lucrative contract abroad.
