    Transfer plans

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has revealed the club's transfer plans before the Premier Soccer League transfer window closes.

The window will close on September 22, and Downs expect to add more players but only if they get the right ones, according to their coach.

    Who are Sundowns targeting?

“There are chances we may sign eventually. Let's see how many players for sure, not a bunch of players, maybe one or two shots in the right direction, and pick the right thing. If not, we're not going to do it, but the expectation is that we can,” Cardoso told KickOff.

“The club is very serious about the approach because we want to target the right thing and not just add numbers. If we just bring numbers inside, maybe it will not help; we don’t want to make that mistake," he added.

"We are seriously working together with me, the Sporting Director, and the chairman to try to bring some players that can reinforce the team,” he went on.

    Who has been signed?

Sundowns are known to be one of the busiest sides during the transfer window, but this time around, they have been rather quiet.

They have only signed Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch and Tsiki Ntsabeleng, who arrived on a loan deal from FC Dallas.

However, the exits of Rivaldo Coetzee, Sipho Mbule, Lucas Suarez, Lebohang Maboe, Sifiso Ngobeni, Thabang Sibanyoni, Sanele Tshabalala, Kobamelo Kodisang, Rushine De Reuck, Thembinkosi Lorch, Matias Esquivel, and Neo Maema mean there are gaps to fill.

    Bid for Matheusinho

The Tshwane giants have been linked with Matheusinho, but reports indicate their initial bid of €1.5 million (around R30 million) was rejected.

The player, on loan at Sport Recife from Portuguese outfit Santa Clara, is believed to be a possible replacement for Lucas Ribeiro.
