    TELL ME MORE

Kaizer Chiefs came into the match versus Magesi at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane hoping for a win after back-to-back Premier Soccer League losses against Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United, respectively.

However, the Soweto giants were shocked by the hosts in the sixth minute when a cross from the left by John Mokone found the unmarked Wonderboy Makhubu in the area, and the attacker guided the ball past Fiacre Ntwari.

Despite the nine on-target attempts in the first half, the Glamour Boys were kept at bay by Elvis Chipezeze in the Magesi goal.

Against the run of play, Magesi added their second goal in the 72nd minute courtesy of Edmore Chirambadare who squeezed his free-kick past the wall and into the back of the net.

The determined Amakhosi were rewarded in the 77th minute when substitute Gaston Sirino assisted Mduduzi Shabalala.

A minute later, Ashley du Preez was denied by the woodwork and the rebound was poorly cleared. The ball fell to the waiting Shabalala whose rocket from the 18-yard area sent the Chiefs fans in the stands to a wild roar as the scoreboard read 2-2.

    THE MVP

Mduduzi Shabalala surely takes the award owing to his critical goals for Amakhosi that ended a losing streak for the Soweto Giants.

Getting from two goals down to a 2-2 draw against the determined Magesi side was surely not a child's play.

  • THE BIG LOSER

The Kaizer Chiefs defence can hardly keep a clean sheet having conceded in the majority of their games. Nasreddine Nabi will hope to tighten up his troops at the back as he welcomes Inacio Miguel who was suspended against Magesi.

    WHAT COMES NEXT?

The Premier Soccer League's newbies Magesi are proving to be a hard nut to crack if the 3-2 win against Orlando Pirates in the Carling Knockout and the draw with Amakhosi are anything to consider.

It is a massive confidence booster ahead of the Carling Knockout fixture with TS Galaxy on Saturday.

For the Glamour Boys, Nasreddine Nabi is surely feeling the pressure after failing to collect a win in three consecutive league matches.

The result was not what he had expected ahead of the Carling Knockout fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend.

Amakhosi have seven points from five matches which puts them eighth on the table, one point more than Magesi who are 11th after six outings.
