    WHAT HAPPENED?

Mamelodi Sundowns star Teboho Mokoena has insisted that his dream of pursuing his career overseas is not yet over.

Before penning a new five-year deal with Sundowns recently, the 27-year-old midfielder was heavily linked to several European clubs

While making it clear that he's happy at Sundowns, Mokoena revealed that he's not giving up on his goal of securing an overseas move.

    WHAT WAS SAID

"The dream of playing in Europe is still alive. We still have the Club World Cup, so we will see next year again," Mokoena told journalists.

"I am happy to be at this club and the reason I signed a new contract is because I know the project of the club and I wanted to be part of that project.

"It was an easy decision for me to stay here because we still have the Club World Cup, we still have AFL and there is still Bafana Bafana."

    WHAT'S MORE?

Mokoena has also spoken about the preparations for their semi-final clash against Stellenbosch.

"I think the preparations (for an MTN8 match against Stellenbosch) have been going well with the team and the team is looking forward to the game," he said.

"I think we played well in the first half against Polokwane City and in the second half, we were losing a bit of energy and they were motivated.

"But I think if we can convert our chances in the first half, then we will make it easier for ourselves."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mokoena helped Sundowns win the inaugural African Football League and the PSL title under former coach Rhulani Mokwena in the last campaign.

The phenom midfield maestro also played a huge role in Hugo Broos' Bafana Bafana squad that finished in third place in the Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ivory Coast earlier this year.
