    TELL ME MORE

Mamelodi Sundowns demonstrated their strength against Sekhukhune United as they triumphed 4-2 in a Premier Soccer League match at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday night.

Thapelo Morena and Lucas Suarez found the net in the first half for Miguel Cardoso's team, while the in-form Lucas Ribeiro and Arthur Sales added the other two goals in the second half.

Katlego Otladisa and former Masandawana forward Keletso Makgalwa scored for Lehlohonolo Seema's side. Babina Noko made every effort to equalise late in the match, but fortune was not on their side.

The result in Polokwane saw Sundowns open a 15-point gap over second-placed Orlando Pirates, who have four games in hand, in the league standings, while Sekhukhune remained in position three on the table.

    THE MVP

Suarez has been settling well and improving game by game after joining Sundowns in the January transfer window.

The Argentina defender, who was on target in this game, deserves to be acknowledged for his decent showing against Sekhukhune.

    THE BIG LOSER

Speculations emerged a few days ago indicating that Seema's future at the club is at risk, with management allegedly planning to dismiss him.

If the rumours of the coach being in danger are true, the Lesotho mentor should be worried after losing against Sundowns at home.

    WHAT COMES NEXT?

Sundowns have two days to prepare for their next league match, which is against new-look Kaizer Chiefs at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

On the other hand, Sekhukhune will turn their focus to the Nedbank Cup action as they take on Milford FC in a long-awaited Round of 32 match.

The clash will take place at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday.
