With the win against neighbours Lesotho, Mzansi moved an inch closer to getting a ticket to the global bonanza that will be held jointly by Mexico, Canada and the USA.

South Africa's dream of returning to the World Cup finals received a massive boost following Bafana Bafana's 3-0 victory over Lesotho in a qualifying match on Friday at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Friday.

Mohau Nkota, Lyle Foster, and Oswin Appollis scored the three goals for the former African Cup of Nations (AFCON) champions to ensure they maintain a tight grip on Group C's top position. 

Despite an early injury setback that saw Siwelele's Nyiko Mobbie withdrawn and Zuko Mdunyelwa thrown into action, South Africa dominated and finally registered a convincing win.
