The home side capitalised on their early pressure by breaking the deadlock in the 14th minute. Aubrey Modiba delivered a precise ball to Mohau Nkota, who guided a first-time effort neatly into the corner.

Bafana Bafana continued to dictate the tempo for the remainder of the first half, with Oswin Appollis, Lyle Foster and Teboho Mokoena combining well and keeping the attack flowing as they pressed for additional goals.

Taking a one-goal advantage into the second half, Hugo Broos’ men maintained their control of the contest. Lyle Foster showcased his striker’s instinct to double the lead, before Oswin Appollis sent the crowd into celebration with a well-taken third.

With a 3-0 victory wrapped up, Bafana moved to 16 points from seven matches, keeping their place at the summit of Group C.

    THE MVP

Bafana’s frontline of Mohau Nkota, Lyle Foster and Oswin Appollis deserves praise for relentlessly troubling the Lesotho defence.

On the night, though, it was Nkota who stood out, earning the MVP accolade with a standout display.
