Just a week after they were crowned as the English champions for a record equalling 20th time, the Reds went down 3-1 against Chelsea in the Premier League last Sunday. Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer were on target for the Blues, while Jarell Quansah scored an own goal. Virgil Van Dijk scored Liverpool's consolation goal.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Slot rested Andy Robertson and Ibrahima Konate as he fielded Kostas Tsimikas and Quansah in the starting lineup. Former Manchester United star and pundit, Roy Keane, felt that none of the defensive replacements were good enough, while suggesting the areas where the newly crowned champions must strengthen this summer.

  • WHAT ROY KEANE SAID

Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane said: "They want to back that up. That's the big challenge for Liverpool. Possibly a left-back, a centre half, [and] potentially I would say striker. They've won the league, they'll be a big attraction for a lot of players. Winning the league's fantastic, you've got to back it up again next year."
