Lamine Yamal reveals stance on his future amid talk Man City & PSG are 'willing to do crazy things' to sign Barcelona wonderkid

At just 17 years old, Yamal has taken the footballing world by storm, breaking records and cementing his reputation as one of Barcelona’s most promising players. His remarkable performances have caught the attention of Europe’s elite clubs, with PSG reportedly making an eye-watering €250 million (£211 million/$277 million) bid for him last summer.

When asked about his ability to resist lucrative offers from clubs like PSG and Manchester City, who are said to be "willing to do crazy things" to sign him, Yamal made it clear that his focus remains on Barcelona.

"No, I don't really think about that. I only think about Barca, improving and winning titles here," he said in an interview with Marca. "I dream of winning titles with Barca and that my family is doing well. Bringing back the Champions League is a dream to come true."

Yamal’s loyalty and dedication to Barcelona are evident. A product of the famed La Masia academy, he broke into the first team under manager Xavi Hernandez towards the end of the 2022-23 season and sealed his place as a starter in the following campaign. Barcelona rewarded Yamal with a contract extension until 2026 in October last year, which included an unprecedented €1 billion release clause - a testament to the club’s unwavering belief in his talent and a tool to fend away potential suitors.

Barcelona have made significant efforts to secure Yamal’s long-term future, as confirmed by his agent Jorge Mendes after the youngster won the Golden Boy award. The teenager is reportedly expected to sign a new contract when he turns 18 in July 2025, further solidifying his relationship with the club.

Yamal suffered an ankle injury during Barcelona’s 1-0 defeat to Leganes on Sunday. Initial reports suggest that he will be sidelined for three to four weeks. This means that Barca boss Hansi Flick must look at other options when the Catalans host Atletico Madrid in a huge La Liga clash on Saturday.
