Kobbie Mainoo the secret Tottenham fan?! Man Utd star leaves supporters confused after posting throwback picture wearing Spurs kit to celebrate 20th birthday

The Manchester United sensation has been in the limelight since scoring the equaliser for the club against Lyon in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final fixture before Harry Maguire scored the last-gasp winning goal to seal a historic 5-4 victory. The midfielder scored his first goal for United since returning from his injury.

On Saturday, Mainoo turned 20 and to celebrate his birthday, the player shared a throwback photograph of himself in a retro Spurs kit. In the caption, he wrote: "20! Blessed."

The kit that the United sensation donned was used by the North London side in the 1997-98 campaign. The kit was worn by Premier League legends like Sol Campbell and Teddy Sheringham. The photograph confused the Red Devils supporters as many wonder whether Mainoo supported the Spurs as a little boy.

Ruben Amorim's side will be back in action in the Premier League on Sunday as they take on Wolves at Old Trafford.
