    The Chiefs problem

Kaizer Chiefs are one of the lowest scoring sides in the Premier Soccer League top eight, with seven goals from seven games.

Assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has admitted they have problems in their final third, but says they have the solution to improve.

    What Ben Youssef said

"I think we don’t see departments, we see it as a team always," said Ben Youssef when speaking to the media.
"How is the offensive assimilation of the team and the defensive assimilation of the team. The only problem that we have up to now is the last third.  We create a lot of opportunities in every game, but we are in a situation where we don’t score a lot of goals.
"Like the last game against Marumo Gallants when we scored the first goal and then got three opportunities to score the second goal and finish the game, but we didn’t score," added the Tunisian.
"So, you will always be in a difficult situation that you can concede at any moment, and it happened in this game.  Even against Polokwane City, it was a bit frustrating when the players started to joke in the game and we were angry with them.
"This kind of game, you have to finish. We focus on everything, but we are more thinking about the last third, the technical decision for the player, the last pass, how we can shoot when we shoot," he continued.
"I think we have to work a lot in this. The only solution is that we have to work on training. We have to repeat, we have to analyse, we try to explain and get some examples from the high level to show to the players.  The only thing to do is to work until everything can be fixed."

Large pool of strikers, less goals

Chiefs find themselves concerned about a blunt strike force despite having eight forwards in their squad, although some are yet to play this season.

The likes of Flavio Silva, Glody Lilepo, Khanyisa Mayo, Ashley du Preez and Wandile Duba have tasted action so far this term.

Silva has scored two goals, while Lilepo and Mayo have a goal each, as others struggle to get off the mark.

But Etiosa Ighodaro, Luke Baartman and Tashreeq Morris are yet to get opportunities to show their capabilities under the current set-up.

    Usuthu test awaits

Chiefs are host AmaZulu at FNB Stadium on Wednesday, with the Soweto giants having failed to win their last two league games.

Amakhosi forwards will be facing an Usuthu defence that has conceded eight goals in seven PSL matches.
