    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Silva has played four competitive matches which he has found the back of the net two times.

His counterpart Mayo made his debut in the 1-1 draw against Marumo Gallants, scoring the Soweto giants' goal before being subbed after an hour.

However, Etiosa Ighodaro is struggling with fitness after getting injured in training.

Despite the competition, Silva insists his priority is the club, and not personal achievements.

    WHAT SILVA SAID

“I am very happy because I am motivated to help the team," the 29-year-old told the media.

"We have big targets and lots of ambition, and I am delighted to contribute. Collecting points is more important than the goals, so I am happier with my first goal because it helped us to get a victory.

“A few years ago, I came to South Africa and visited FNB Stadium for a match against a Ghanaian team," Silva continued.

"The atmosphere was beautiful, so for me, my first game was very, very special. I felt happy to play there myself.
“So I’m okay. My family has arrived, which is the most important thing outside of football. I have been here a few months, and I am starting to get used to it, and I am feeling happy," he concluded.

    WHAT NEXT?

Two goals, in four competitive games, is a good start for the towering forward who struggled to score in pre-season.

The competition in the attacking department will definitely push Silva to his best, which will benefit the team.
