After a 1-0 defeat in the first leg, Amakhosi faced a rather tough challenge at home, but the Premier Soccer League side managed to surmount the hurdle and progress. Brandon Petersen was the Glamour Boys' hero as he made a decisive save during the shootouts.

Kaizer Chiefs mounted a comeback to eliminate Kabuscorp and advance to the second preliminary round in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Glamour Boys started the comeback campaign with a 1-0 win in the second leg in regulation time at the FNB Stadium before finishing the job in the post-match penalties.    

Although there is a cloud of uncertainty around their head coach's position, Amakhosi were focused on the job at hand and completed it in a way, although not entirely convincing, that handed them a ticket for the next stage.
