Kaizer Chiefs players shine as All-Stars beat Magesi FC to lift Carling Cup under Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro

With the two teams still testing each other, Samkelo Zwane picked his Kaizer Chiefs teammate Naledi Hlongwane who smartly beat Elvis Chipezeze to give the All-Stars team the lead after 11 minutes.

Zwane then got his name on the scoresheet 10 minutes later when he received a neat pass from Ashley du Preez.

Hlongwane was back again with a low drive that beat Chipezeze in 23 minutes after being set up by Orlando Pirates defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi.

It ended 3-0 in favour of the All-Stars team on the day as Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro masterminded a second successive Carling Cup win.

Hlongwane sent a bold message to Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi to be considered for first-team football.

The Amakhosi reserve team player rose at a time when the Soweto giants are in the hunt for a striker to fix their attacking frailties.

This has to go to Magesi goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze who was made to look ordinary by a select side.

After being a standout performer, racking Man of the Match awards at every stage of the Carling Knockout, Chipezezse was breached three times on Saturday.
