Kaizer Chiefs' losing streak continues in the tour of the Netherlands after falling down to NEC Nijmegen

Kaizer Chiefs were beaten 1-0 by Dutch Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen in Overasselt on Saturday.

Following a goalless first half, Nijmegen scored through Japanese forward Koki Ogawa to separate the two sides.

It was Amakhosi's third straight defeat on their pre-season tour of the Netherlands.

They first lost 2-1 to Vitesse before succumbing to a 4-0 defeat to Utrecht on Friday.

That means Nasreddine Nasbi's men have conceded seven goals in three games while finding the back of the net just once.

This could be an indicator of attacking frailties, something that has been haunting them in recent seasons.

After struggling for consistency last season, the Soweto giants have been trying to revitalise themselves.

They are trying to win their preseason games ahead of a season where they will be participating in the Premier Soccer League, Carling Knockout, the Nedbank Cup and the CAF Confederation Cup.

Amakhosi continue with their pre-season program, and they face PEC Zwolle in their next match on Tuesday.

While the Soweto giants might argue that their games are not result-oriented, they might want to win to cultivate a culture of victory going into the new season.
