    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs have been struggling in the attacking department, with the strikers failing to deliver.

Ranga Chivaviro and Christian Saile were released for failing to take their chances when given opportunities.

Another striker Tashreeq Morris is seemingly not getting it right as anticipated following his signing from the now-defunct SuperSport United.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Flavio Silva has been signed by the Glamour Boys to help the team take their chances in the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign.

Last season, the 29-year-old played 33 games and scored nine goals for Indonesian outfit Persebaya Surabaya, and 30 goals in the previous season from 45 matches across all competitions.

It explains why Amakhosi faithful are hoping to see many goals from the lanky attacker.

However, South Africa legend Shaun Bartlett has warned against putting expectations on one player, since all players are involved.

    WHAT BARTLETT SAID

"Everyone is gonna look at the striker that's gonna give you 15 goals a season. I don't put too much emphasis on the striking department, if the team is doing well, the striking itself will benefit," He told Omni Audio Africa YouTube Channel.
"When you score goals, it needs to be across the park; everybody has to contribute in terms of winning titles, that conversation rate is what has been lacking at Chiefs.

"That [was] probably the bigger issue, that the conversion rate is too low for the amount of opportunities they create," Bartlett continued
"Sometimes people assume Chiefs have deep pockets to get that striker, but you need to find a balance in spending money.

"When it comes to individual qualities and desire, I do feel if a lot of strikers can put in more work; they want to score on weekends but they don't want to put that extra hour at training, that for me is lacking a lot in South Africa," he concluded.
