    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs faithful expected an earth-shaking transfer window after Amakhosi grabbed a ticket for the CAF Confederation Cup.

The players were meant to help the team have enough depth and quality to make them deliver domestically and in inter-club competition.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mduduzi Mdantsane, Edmilson Dove, Njabulo Blom, Sabelo Radebe, Ranga Chivaviro, Tebogo Potsane, and Bongani Sam are the players who have so far been released.

Amakhosi have replaced them with six, so far: Ethan Chislett (Port Vale), Nkanyiso Shinga (FC Alverca), Flavio Silva (Persebaya Surabaya), Thabiso Monyane (Orlando Pirates), Paseka Mako (Orlando Pirates), and Siphesihle Ndlovu (SuperSport United).

Club's former winger Junior Khanye is unhappy that Chiefs failed to get the likes of Fawaaz Basadien and Sipho Mbule, who he believes would have added massive quality to the team.

He insists the management has so far let the fans down.

    WHAT KHANYE SAID

“I’m very disappointed that Kaizer Chiefs haven’t signed a top goalkeeper. I’m talking about a proper top-class goalkeeper,” he said as quoted by Soccer Laduma.
“I am not satisfied with how the club has done its business so far during the transfer window.

"I feel a lot more players should have been released from last season’s squad. I’ve spoken a lot about how I would have loved to see Sipho Mbule at Kaizer Chiefs, and it didn’t happen,” Khanye continued.
“I expected Chiefs to sign Basadien, but that too didn’t happen, as we all know now that he is a Sundowns player.
“Sipho Mbule was a free agent, and that’s how Pirates got him. Now we are not talking about a transfer fee here, because the boy had been released from Sundowns. I blame the management and the scouting department at Chiefs for how they have missed out on some of the players they could have signed,” the former winger concluded..
