    WHAT CHIEFS SAID

"Kaizer Chiefs and midfielder, Mduduzi Mdantsane, have mutually agreed to part ways," the club announced.

"The 30-year-old player joined Amakhosi from Cape Town City at the beginning of the 2023/24 season. Last season, in order to accumulate some game-time after recovering from injury, he spent the latter part of the campaign on loan at Richards Bay FC," the statement added.

"During his time with Chiefs, Mdantsane made 16 appearances across all competitions. We wish Mdu all the best!"

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mdantsane leaves Amakhosi as a free agent and is the fifth player to depart Naturea in the recent past. Edmilson Dove, whose exit was received with some surprise, Sabelo Radebe and Ranga Chivaviro have all left Chiefs.

Njabulo Blom left when Amakhosi opted not to extend his loan deal.

Meanwhile, Mdantsane struggled to stamp authority as a regular player under Nasreddine Nabi. He spent the second half of the season on loan to Richards Bay when he could not enjoy regular play time for the Glamour Boys.

As they clear space by releasing players, Amakhosi are set to announce their new signings in due course. Thabiso Monyane, Mihlali Mayambela and Paseka Mako are expected to be among the newcomers.

    WHAT NEXT FOR MDANTSANE?

Being a free agent, Mdantsane can now enter into talks with clubs interested in his services.

Top on his mind is to sign for a club where he will enjoy regular minutes, unlike what he faced at Chiefs.
