    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs are set to bring in new faces in their bid to have a competitive squad ahead of the 2025-26 season.

The Glamour Boys will compete in the Caf Confederation Cup as well as the domestic competitions.

The main assignment for coach Nasreddine Nabi will be to work his way to the top positions in the Premier Soccer League.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Njabulo Blom returned to his parent team after failing to deliver in his season-long loan deal.

Others who have been released following the expiry of their contracts are Sabelo Radebe, Ranga Chivaviro and Mozambique international Edmilson Dove.

Former Amakhosi defender Themba Seli now says Dove was just not meant for the Glamour Boys.

He argues the 30-year-old was out of place owing to the tactics employed by the Tunisian.

    WHAT SELI SAID

"All four players that have been released so far were expected to leave; they didn't perform well last season for Kaizer Chiefs", he told KickOff.

"It was clear that Dove was struggling to fit in at Chiefs. He is too cautious with the ball, and he tends to release it too quickly.

"Chiefs are trying to play from the back, and Dove seemed uncomfortable with that approach. He is prone to errors. Dove simply was not right for Kaizer Chiefs.

"The problem with Dove is that he lacked confidence on the ball, which led to costly mistakes," Seli concluded.

Reports have it that Chiefs are set to sign former Orlando Pirates defender Paseka Mako to take over from Dove.

It is interesting to see who else the Glamour Boys will bring on board to make the squad competitive enough to match the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns and Soweto rivals.
