    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs forward Ranga Chivaviro has managed to score three goals in seven starts across all competitions.

That has invited some booing from fans in games where he misses some good scoring opportunities.

But Amakhosi assistant coach Cedric Kaze has refused to single out Chivaviro as the only player who is struggling for goals at the club and mentions a number of players as well.

    WHAT KAZE SAID

“The question about Ranga, I won’t elaborate too much because I don’t believe the press conference is about the player,” Kaze told the media as per iDiski Times.

“But we got a lot of situations, a lot of good ones Ranga included, [Nkosingiphile Ngcobo] Mshini, [Mduduzi] Mdantsane, [Mduduzi] Shabalala one they had at least a chance to score we didn’t.
“It’s true that we need to improve the confidence of everyone, and we are truly working on it," added coach Nasreddine Nabi's trusted lieutenant.

“I am pretty sure that overall, today it’s a positive, not the result it was a positive game in a lot of areas, and we will keep that in mind.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Despite Chivaviro struggling to turn himself into a prolific scorer at Amakhosi, Nabi's men have managed to find the back of the net 12 times in the seven competitive games they have participated in.

Chiefs players have been sharing scoring responsibilities, including defender Inacio Miguel being a threat in front of goal.

Nabi will be working towards avoiding facing problems of being blunt upfront and struggling to score.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHIEFS?

After finding it difficult to score in the Home of Legends final against Mamelodi Sundowns, Chiefs will be hoping that will not manifest itself when they resume playing competitive football.

The Soweto giants return to action by hosting Richards Bay in a league game on November 27.
