Greenwood's next move is being considered after his loan spell with Getafe expired, with The Sunreporting that Fener's hopes of landing the player could be hit by Greenwood's reluctance to reunite with the Portuguese coach. A number of other clubs across Europe are said to be interested in the 22-year-old, who faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

Greewood's future is up in the air after a productive season on loan at Getafe which saw him net 10 times after an internal review declared that the controversial striker should play away from the club last season. Mourinho, meanwhile, was appointed by the Turkish side last week following the Istanbul outfit's third consecutive second-place Super Lig finish.

Mourinho handed a 16-year-old Greenwood a place on Manchester United's pre-season tour of the USA during his time as Old Trafford boss in 2018. The forward first appeared on the Portuguese's radar as a 15-year-old, when Nicky Butt was in charge of the club's academy set-up.

Greenwood's current £75,000-a-week deal at Old Trafford runs until 2025, with the club having an option to extend by a further 12 months. A host of major European sides such as Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Napoli have been linked with a move for him.
