    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The biggest game for Amakhosi, arguably, will be on May 10 when they play Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final.

Chiefs beat Sundowns to make the last hurdle, while the defending champions got past Gallants.

The Glamour Boys haven't won silverware in a decade, and the game at Moses Mabhida Stadium presents them with a perfect opportunity to deliver.

Defender Dillan Solomons concedes that one has to always think about the Cup final.

    WHAT SOLOMONS SAID

"It's difficult [to fully focus on PSL matches before the Nedbank final]; obviously, you're naturally focused on the final. Any human being would be excited for that moment, but it's just how you prepare mentally for every game,'' he opened up to the media.

“The way I see it, we can use those games as a momentum builder going into the final, it's not easy games obviously; Marumo are not an easy team, people always think they're an easy team, but they are not an easy team," Solomons continued.

“And then we've got the league derby before the big one, it's a game we need to go out there and show confidence if you want to go to the final and win it,” he concluded.

    AND WHAT IS MORE

However, goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma has contradicted the versatile defender, claiming no one is thinking about the Soweto Derby at the moment.

"I wouldn’t say that our players are focused on the derby at the moment because right now every game is like a final for us. Marumo, when we win, we know we get the momentum going into the next game. We know we get the maximum points that we need in order to finish better in the league," the Bafana Bafana star stated.

    WHAT NEXT?

As much as Chiefs want to win the Nedbank Cup, they can't afford to miss out MTN8 for the second season in a row.

It explains why they have to get a positive result against Gallants on Saturday to end their five-match winless run in the PSL.
