    WHAT HAPPENED?

Njabulo Blom is on loan at Kaizer Chiefs from Major League Soccer side St Louis City.

But the defender-cum-midfielder has struggled to become a standout player for Amakhosi under coach Nasreddine Nabi.

Bradley Carnell, who signed and coached the 25-year-old at St Louis, believes in Blom's abilities and reckons he can become one of the best in the MLS.

    WHAT CARNELL SAID

“I think Jabs had an excellent 2023 campaign,” Carnell told iDiski Times.

“In 2024 he did have some injury concerns and just never got into a good rhythm again.

“On any day he can be one of the best defensive midfielders in the league with a certain style of play."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Blom has featured in 15 games for Chiefs across all competitions this season, starting nine of them.

The Soweto-born player is in a season where being on top of his game could make St Louis City take him back next season.

Under coach Nabi, he will be hoping to improve his performances and even attract European clubs, while also getting back into the Bafana Bafana fold.
