Is Andile Jali done with Chippa United? 'There are no disciplinary issues' but former Orlando Pirates midfielder might be headed to retirement

Andile Jali joined Chippa United as a free agent at the beginning of the 2024-25 season.

Jali, who had controversially parted ways with Moroka Swallows, was meant to add experience to the Chilli Boys who wanted to fight for a top-eight finish.

Things have not gone as anticipated for the 35-year-old at the Chilli Boys.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates midfielder has struggled for appearances this season. He has played just 10 games for Chippa United, three coming in the ongoing campaign.

There have been questions raised about the player and his absence in recent games, with rumours having it he might have fallen out with the technical team.

However, his agent Mike Makaab has refuted the claims and further commented on the midfielder's future.

“He is training; there are no disciplinary issues. Again, one can’t complain because the team is doing well," he told SNL24.

"We’ve just got to hope that he gets an opportunity, but these are just things where one has to wait and see how they play out.

“That will be the most important discussion. Is his heart still in the game? Does he still want to play? Does he want to focus on his business activities, which he has already started?

"We’ve got to look at all of these things and we will take it from there," Makaab concluded.

Jali's current deal with Chippa United expires at the end of the ongoing campaign.

It is interesting to see whether Jali will continue playing trade in the Premier Soccer League or call it a day.
