In-form Marcelo Allende, Aubrey Modiba and five Mamelodi Sundowns players in danger of missing Saturday's sold-out showdown against Kaizer Chiefs

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso is in a difficult situation since some of his players could be suspended ahead of the upcoming crucial game against Kaizer Chiefs.

The Brazilians are preparing for their Premier Soccer League match against Sekhukhune United on Wednesday, February 26, at the Old Peter Mokaba.

Ahead of this clash, seven players, including two regular starters could be unavailable for the Chiefs match if they get booked, as they are all currently on three yellow cards.

Marcelo Allende, Aubrey Modiba, Sphelele Mkhulise, Kegan Johannes, Asekho Tiwani, Mothobi Mvala, and Bathusi Aubaas are all on three yellow cards ahead of the Sekhukhune United match.

Allende has been performing well recently, having netted one goal and provided two assists in the last four matches for Sundowns. Thus, he could be extremely important against Chiefs.

Amongst the seven players facing the risk of suspension, Mothobi Mvala and Bathusi Aubaas are injured and are expected to be unavailable when Cardoso's team meets Nasreddine Nabi's new-look Amakhosi.

The tickets for the match between Masandawana and the Glamour Boys are already sold out after being placed on sale on Monday morning.

It will be interesting to see if Cardoso will choose to rest two key players, Modiba and Allende, against Sekhukhune, given the likelihood of them getting yellow cards.

Sundowns will play host to rejuvenated Chiefs in the much-anticipated league clash at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, March 1.
