South Africa and Nigeria battled to a 1-1 draw in their Group C 2026 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein on Tuesday.
Although Bafana Bafana were hoping to capitalise on home advantage and win, that was not possible, but the one point collected boosted their chances of earning a World Cup ticket nonetheless.
An own goal by William Troost-Ekong gave South Africa an early lead, but the Super Eagles fought back and equalised through Calvin Bassey.
Although the draw propelled Nigeria to the second position, a six-point gap still separates them from Bafana, who are leading the group with 17 points.
After the draw, GOAL takes a look at how the fans reacted after a qualifying showdown that pitted Africa's top rivals.
