    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Marumo Gallants and Cape Town City booked their spots in the Carling Knockout Round of 16 on Saturday.

    Gallants were away to an unpredictable Polokwane City side, while Cape Town City played host to Royal AM, who are undefeated in the PSL this season.

    GALLANTS EDGE POLOKWANE IN FIVE-GOAL THRILLER

    Marumo Gallants came from behind to win 3-2 against Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. 

    Hlayisi Chauke and Puleng Marema were on the scoresheet from Rise and Shine who are under the guidance of Phuti Mohafe. 

    On the other hand, Siyabulela Shai, Monde Mphambaniso, and Edgar Manaka all scored for the Dan Malesela-led team, Gallants.

    CT CITY THRASH HAPLESS ROYAL AM

    Cape Town City were too strong for Royal AM as they beat the KwaZulu-Natal side 3-0 at the Athlone Stadium. 

    Amadou Soukouna, Jaedin Rhodes, and Jody Ahshene were all on target as Eric Tinkler's side brushed aside John Maduka's charges.

    Cape Town City and Marumo Gallants will discover their Carling Knockout Cup quarter-final opponents on Sunday following the conclusion of the Round of 16 matches.
