    WHAT HAPPENED?

Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane has tipped Wydad AC's Thembinkosi Lorch to make a big move after his exploits at the Fifa Club World Cup.

Overall, despite Wydad's poor show at the ongoing global interclub tournament, the former Bucs forward has been brilliant.

He was the shining star on Wydad's side during the defeat to Manchester City in their opening game and scored the only goal when they went down 4-1 to Juventus on matchday town action.

Going by Lorch's performance, he has been tipped to get offers from bigger clubs.

    WHAT MABOKGWANE SAID

"Lorch should go on to greater heights, or he should stay on at Wydad. He's happy, and he's alive again, and that's what happiness does," Mabokgwane said, as per Soccer Laduma.

"If he continues this way, he'll get an offer elsewhere, maybe Europe after the Club World Cup."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Although Wydad are third on the table with no chance of making it into the knockout stage, Lorch will reflect on the Club World Cup tournament with pride.

He has shown how good and creative a player he is, and his only goal in the game against Juventus gave their fans something to smile about.

Their next game will be against Al Ain, who have also not registered a win in this tournament, which will be another moment for Lorch to show the world how good he is.

    WHAT NEXT FOR LORCH?

Currently on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, the 31-year-old is expected to attract more suitors after the tournament.

Whether he will return to Tshwane after his loan deal is not clear, but reports indicate Wydad are ready to retain him. He has also been linked with clubs from North Africa and outside Africa.
