    WHAT HAPPENED?

Concerned former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has voiced his dissatisfaction with Nasreddine Nabi for selecting Christian Saile in a match against Cape Town City.

The speedy forward started and lasted for 55 minutes ahead of wingers Mfundo Vilakazi and Pule Mmodi in the Glamour Boys' disheartening Premier Soccer League defeat to the Citizens last Sunday.

Khanye, who is known for his critical stance regarding the Soweto giants' acquisitions of players, has once again condemned Chiefs for keeping  Saile in the team.

    WHAT KHANYE SAID

"Sometimes it’s an embarrassment to see the likes of Saile starting a game," said Khanye per iDiski Times

"When you have a left winger like Saile who is always doing the same thing every week I don’t understand how he earned a place to play. Why is he still at Chiefs?

"Not much from Saile from the left he hits the ball over the bar, he was off target for like three times doing the same thing in a row. His decision-making was poor as well," he added.

"There were 3 v 2 situations and passed to the opponents very poor from Chiefs I need to be honest."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The 25-year-old forward joined Chiefs in January 2023. The left-footed player has played 56 matches so far, scoring only seven goals for the club.

Saile has consistently been one of the players reportedly regarded as surplus to requirements at Chiefs since the arrival of Nabi.

However, with almost every player seemingly having difficulties at the Soweto giants, the former Nchanga Rangers FC star appears to have managed to avoid the cut at the Motaung-owned club.

    WHAT NEXT FOR SAILE?

It is yet to be determined whether Amakhosi will let Saile go in order to open up a foreign spot in this current transfer window. His current contract is set to expire in June 2026.

The forward will be aiming to start once again when Amakhosi face Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday, January 08 at the FNB Stadium.
