Former Carling Knockout and MTN8 champions Cape Town City relegated as Orbit College are promoted to the Premier Soccer League

Cape Town City lost 1-0 to Orbit College in a Premier Soccer League promotional/relegation playoff match at Olympia Park Stadium on Wednesday.

Letsie Koapeng scored two minutes into the second half to send Orbot College into the top-flight league as the Citizens were relegated to the First National Division.

City go down despite having a galaxy of stars in their team, facing lower division sides.

Against Orbit College on Wednesday, they had the likes of Thulani Serero, Lorenzo Gordinho, Thamsanqa Mkhize, Emile Witbooi, Thabo Nodada, Fortune Makaringe, Haashin Domingo and goalkeeper Darren Keet in their team.

But it counted for nothing as they were eventually demoted to the first division.

Orbit will now be preparing for their debut campaign in the PSL, hoping to meet the standards of the league.

City, on the other hand, will attempt to return to the top-flight league by winning the NFD title next season.
