  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Coleen has seen her stock soar on the back of heading to the Australian jungle in 2024. She took on her fair share of Bushtucker trials Down Under, allowing her to secure a runner-up finish. Offers have flooded in on the back of that appearance, which helped to show the person behind the headlines.

    THE GOSSIP

Manchester United legend Wayne was unable to visit Coleen in Australia, as he was working as Plymouth boss at the time, but concedes that he would like to take on his own adventure at some stage. He will certainly be prioritising bugs and critters over dancing shoes.

  • WHAT WAYNE ROONEY SAID

Quizzed by PA News on whether he could be lured into the world of reality TV, Wayne Rooney said: “Definitely not Strictly! I can’t dance. But, no, (I’m A Celebrity) is something I would never say no to, of course.

“I think I said on the after show when Coleen was in the jungle, that was the one we’ve always watched and the one we both said if there was anything we’d do it’d be that. So, you never know in the future, but I’ve got other things I’m looking at at the minute.”

  • DID YOU KNOW?

One of those is a documentary series with Coleen that will see Disney+ cameras offer an insight into the Rooneys’ private life. Wayne is also preparing to grace the field at Old Trafford again as part of England’s team in the 2025 edition of Soccer Aid.

  • TELL ME MORE

He added on that event, which will take place on June 15: “It’s always great to wear the England kit. I remember years ago we played Denmark and I scored at Old Trafford.

“Obviously to play at Old Trafford again is always great. I’ve so many good memories at this stadium, and to come back and obviously play in Soccer Aid again is a good feeling. Excited to see which players you’re playing with, you’re playing against them, but, more importantly, raise money.”

    WHAT NEXT?

Rooney has room in his schedule to grace Soccer Aid as he is taking in another enforced break from coaching, having severed ties with Plymouth at the end of 2024. He has left himself open to coaching offers, but is enjoying punditry work for now and will not be rushing back into the dugout.
