    WHAT HAPPENED?

TS Galaxy defender Khulumani Ndamane has been linked with a move to Mamelodi Sundowns after being one of the standout players last season.

But his coach Adnan Beganovic is not ready to lose the player who has also muscled his way into the Bafana Bafana setup.

    WHAT BEGANOVIC SAID

“I can promise you he’s staying here with us,” said Beganovic as per iDiski Times.

“I think this season I don’t want to talk about surviving. I don’t want to talk about the same issues,” he continued.  “I saw exactly what we have and we analysed everything and we just use what we have in that moment.

“I can promise you we’ll be a tough opponent for every team. We want to put our goals high, we want to fight for a top-8 spot because of everything we did in the last six, seven months.

“We started this pre-season and we want to just add on everything we did last season," added the Bosnian.

“I know it can’t be easy and we will need the time to teach our new players our vision, our philosophy and our model, how we want to look, how we want to play this season. Until now I’m happy with what I saw in pre-season.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

TS Galaxy are currently banned by world football governing body FIFA from signing new players due to disputes including Vasilije Kolak, Jegbay Morris and Bernard Yao Kouassi, although the club has argued that everything has now been fixed.

That ties their hands in the transfer market and makes them keen on keeping the men they have in their squad.

They are already feeling the pinch after having just six players on the bench when they faced Sekhukhune United in the MTN8 quarter-final match last weekend.

    WHAT NEXT?

Ndamane is being linked with Sundowns who have signed just one player so far during the current transfer window.

He is heading into a season where he needs to remain consistent and keep himself in the plans of Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
