    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs are in the market searching for players ahead of the 2025/26 season.

Former Amakhosi defender Lucas Radebe feels coach Nasreddine Nabi should be given a chance and advises on how the Soweto giants should go about their transfer business.

    WHAT RADEBE SAID

“I think last season, Kaizer Chiefs have done well after winning the trophy because that’s one of the things that has been eluding the club for some time,” said Radebe as per FARPost.

“A club and a brand like Chiefs is known for winning trophies, and this is the reason this team is one of the supported teams in Africa. We must recruit the quality that’s needed for the club, and I think Nabi has a big chance of doing that, especially after winning silverware last season.

“I think we can fully judge him as a coach next season, and that’s his job as a coach to make the club successful. He just needs to bring in the right players and not deviate from the culture of the club," added the former Bafana Bafana captain.

"I think philosophy matters the most for the club and fans. You can see the pressure they’re putting him under; they’re demanding results.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Nabi will be fully in charge of transfers, unlike last year when he arrived to find the club having already sealed the signing of Bongani Sam.

That could mean the Tunisian would not have any excuses should his new men flop after being responsible for bringing them to Naturena.

The coach's priority would be building a squad that challenges for the Premier Soccer League title after finishing the past two seasons out of the top eight.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHIEFS?

Azam midfielder Feisal Salum, Ghanaian forward Jonathan Sowah and Slovakian striker Robert Polievka are some of the players Chiefs are reportedly keen on.

They are also scouting locally, and are sad to be after the ex-Orlando Pirates duo of wing-backs Paseka Mako and Thabiso Monyane, as well as Stellenbosch stars Ashley Cupido and Fawaaz Basadien, and free-agent Sipho Mbule, who has been offered to them.
